The Samson CO2 is great as a camera top-mic when less directional capture is desired than a short-shotgun. They are also well suited as a budget friendly solutions to close micing instruments. The hypercardioid pattern makes the CO2 great for live sound reinforcement and the high SPL capacity makes them great for drum overheads.
